JIMMIE HILLHOUSE

Jimmie Hillhouse, 77, of Independence, MO, passed away on June 19, 2012 at the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. He was born on May 1, 1935 in Oakland, AR the son of Donnie Hillhouse.

Jimmie grew up in the Oakland – Pontiac area while being raised by his grandparents, Lee and Nora Hillhouse. In 1956, he joined the United States Army where he served for two years. He came back home and later moved to the Kansas City area. He was united in marriage to Rosanna Owsley on September 30, 1965 in Miami, OK. The couple made their home in Independence, MO and raised two sons, Richard and Billy. Jimmie worked for many years as a machine operator at a sheet metal manufacturer. He retired in the late 1990’s. Jimmie loved his family and his fishing. He was an avid fisherman. In the past few years, he began collecting old LP’s and burning them to CD’s and has acquired quite a collection. Jimmie was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and special aunt and uncle, Allie and Marvin Newton. He is survived by his wife, Rosannna, of the family home in Independence; his two sons, Richard and Billy Hillhouse of Independence; his sister Ann Coatney and husband Dick of Gainesville, MO; special cousin Ken Newton of West Plains, MO; and several other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Pontiac Cemetery, Pontiac, Missouri with Chris Pedersen officiating. Memorials may be made to the giver's charity of choice. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
